On the way back from dinner, my girlfriend and I were talking about the cars we would get to replace our current cars. I ended up saying a sedan/coupe or hatchback, she said an SUV or crossover.

Kinja'd!!!

Her reasoning was that she's always been driven around in low sedans all her life and wants something big and tall. My reasoning was I've always been driven around in big, tall vehicles all my life and I wanted something low and smaller.

Kinja'd!!!

Then it came to what we wanted. She wanted my mom's Vue and I want her mom's Avenger R/T or her dad's 328i.

I guess that saying really is true.

I really like how the Avenger looks. Darker wheels, plus a low boot spoiler would complete the look.

Thats pretty funny. I have now gotten used to my moms gargantuan Expedition that I think most (if not all) cars I own later in life will be low. My girlfriend also likes Crossovers for some reason (Working on that...)

I'm okay with my girlfriend liking crossovers until she starts liking stuff like the Lexus RX or Honda CR-V.

My wife and I have a similar disagreement. We are getting some kind of family nice car when we decide to have children (my child deserves better than my 30 year old rust bucket). I want something practical yet awesome: a wagon. She wants something "bigger" and """safer""": a goddamned crossover. She might just get her way, because will a wagon even be sold in the US five years from now??? Maybe a nice used S-AMG E63 wagon that Doug D. drove that one time? *sigh* Well it would have depreciated pretty steeply by then. I will have to use my child's college fund to keep it running though

As the owner of a Chrysler product (that was $35k new) I can still objectively say it sucks ass.

… gotta be honest with yourself.

I can't ever see myself not owning at least one truck and one car. I love both for what each is good at.

Avenger you say?

Kinja'd!!!

I would rather buy one of the older ones than take a newer one as a gift.

She told me that in the future she'd like something like this *points at Rav4*.
